This renowned private members club has played host to the world’s great and good (the Mercury Prize Session is held here), pop-up exhibitions, innovative drinking concepts and fine dining alongside the in-house TV production studio, screening room and myriad lounging and brainstorming areas. Now, adding another string to its bow, The Hospital has unveiled fifteen sumptuous bedrooms that are open to non-members.

Each room is laden with luxurious leather, velvets, sumptuous woods and intricate stained glass juxtapositioned against clean lines, bold patterns and modern furniture achieving that home from home feel hotels often miss.

All equipped with the all the mod cons one could dream of and showered with art hand picked from emerging artists, the unique aesthetic is sure to keep the great and the good from rolling through the front door.

We got the lowdown on the bold and beautiful design brief from the Hospital Club Creative Director Michael Berg.

What do you think makes a hotel room stand apart in its design?

We wanted to make our rooms feel warm, homely and snug. To feel like you are at home, rather than at a hotel. But armed with all the luxurious of a hotel. That’s the key.

Where did the inspiration for the rooms come from?

We wanted the rooms to be an extension of the rest of the club. Combining this and injecting that more home from home feel.

What would your word of advice for aspiring decorators?

Be bold and brave in combining different materials and colours.

What would be your advice for creating this look at home? Combine the new with the old. Upcycle and reupholster. Play with textures.
