Blank, boring doors, be gone!
For an instant playful update, covering your kids plain doors with decals of their favourite animal can animate their entire room.
Animal door decals like these soft vinyl cut outs from Made of Sundays can be the cute, cuddly and playful addition to their bedrooms that they never knew they wanted (bonus – they peel off without leaving a trace).
Find everyone from 'Sisi the cat', 'Tofu the tiger' to 'Anni the sleepy bunny' on Made of Sundays online store (from £30), each decal is eco-friendly and custom made in Helsinki, so your little one can decide on what colours to feature or to add their name printed as they please.
And for a helping hand before applying the vinyl on to your doors, be sure to watch the video for instructions on how to install a vinyl wall decal.
If you’re feeling inspired and want to give things a personal twist – paint the animals on yourself with Easycare Matt paint. It's washable and tough, so will stand up to the wear and tear doorways often have to withstand (especially in kids rooms!).
Difficulty rating: Easy-peasy
You will need:
- Tester pots of your selected colours, we recommend Rich Black, Striking Cyan and Fuschia Lily
- Paint brush
Step 1: First, grab your chalk and outline the face, tail, ears (and claws, if you like) of your chosen animal.
Step 2: Then using a small brush start painting with Rich Black to fill in your shapes and chalk outlines. Leave to dry and repeat with a second layer.
Step 3: Once that's dry, use your second colour to paint cheeks, ears, paws, or whatever creative suggestions pops into your little ones head. Et voila!
