This week, Pick Me Up is back for its sixth year at Somerset House, giving you a golden opportunity to get your hands on the work of the Next Big Thing in the world of contemporary graphics and illustration. The graphics arts festival features a line up of fresh talent and a packed schedule of events; from talks and Q&A sessions to screenings and DJ sets.

A goldmine of original art, there's something to suit every taste and budget. If your walls are crying out for unique and exciting artwork but you don't know where to start, make a beeline for Pick Me Up Selects, a showcase of 12 young, international graphic artists, carefully chosen by a panel of industry professionals. Each day at 3pm, visitors of the festival can hear from the artist themselves, whether it be Swedish artist, Sara Andreasson discussing her digital illustrations; Hattie Newman on her intricate 3D paper craft; or Irish illustrator, Laura Callaghan sharing the inspiration behind her raucous scenes.

Our top tips? Well, we're rather enamoured with Peckham Print Studio (top left) and Lazy Oaf (top right) for quirky wall dressing. For a contemporary twist on vintage style illustrations, check out the evocative and vibrant works of Camberwell College of Art graduate, Gaurab Thakali – he's already touted to be a rising star in the industry. If you're looking for something that has a sense of humour as well as being stylish, Ohh Deer won't disappoint – who couldn't love looking upon its Complimentary Colours print (below) every day?
